* product link in video description * This is the new Hogue Mysto in Richlite. It’s about half the cost of the original Mysto and significantly lighter at only 2.56 ounces. It features magnacut steel and is made in the good ol USA. So what the HECK is Richlite? For starters, it’s not a new material and has been around since 1943. Some may refer to it as paper micarta. It’s engineered paper infused with thermosetting resin, cut to length, stacked/laid by handle and then pressed into blocks. It’s really durable, surprisingly lightweight, and it offers a pretty interesting feel in the hand. It’s a bit less grippy than your traditional micarta but when textured properly it feels quite nice.

I have seen a significant increase in its popularity within pocketknives the past year.
