The T.Kell x MelissaBackwoods WharnEDC is a very special knife design to me. Choosing the right company to do my first knife design with was just as important as the design itself. T.Kell Knives is 100% made in the USA, and is one of the first companies to really believe in me and support me as a content creator. Tim Kell has an impeccable eye for designs that are functional but also look damn good.

I started reviewing knives in 2016 – my area of focus being in wilderness survival and Bushcraft fixed Blades, so doing a fixed blade as my first knife design is what felt natural and right – a nod to my past.

In more recent years I have grown interest in the EDC and practicality components of a knife. EDC fixies have become my preference due to their low maintenance, ease of deployment, and structural reliability. A Blade profile that I had once overlooked – the wharncliffe – has recently become a favorite shape due to its ease of sharpening and effectiveness in precise cutting tasks. Thus, the idea to create a knife that combined elements of my past, present, and future was born.
