The Roundhouse Lock Knife
Published: 4 months ago
I think “Truffles” by Aurora Knife and Tool is one of those knives that you just need to hold and experience for yourself to fully appreciate. In terms of Knives, the way it feels and sounds is a unique experience. It is very fun to open close and has very clacky acoustics. The action feels so good and the guillotine shut really just makes it one of those knives that you could hold in your hand all day. Obviously, I have a lot of knives lying around, but this is one of those ones I have been t keep out because at times I just wanna pick it up and play with it. The tanto shape looks cool as heck, and even though tanto is not my top choice for edc shape, this knife has characteristics that make it special enough to consider.
The Roundhouse lock is a really neat mechanism - last year I took apart this knife to show the internals. There is a little leaf spring inside the frame of the knife that goes around the pivot button. When you push on the pivot button, it puts tension on that spring, which then puts tension on the liner (and causes the liner to “get sucked back into” the frame. Very cool.
