Here is Cold Steel's response, from the Master of the Tri-Ad Lock, himself; check it out all that are interested in the AD-10.

Thank you for your question. The AD-10 tang is correctly made in the CS production. You will notice in my new AD-10 Plus P version ( which is also the cold steel version ) the handle has been modified from the earlier versions. I learned from making and using the AD-15 that there was no real drawback with the exposed tang so I no longer let that constrain my thinking when I revised the AD-10 a few years ago.

Enjoy,

This is my Knife Collection. I give thoughts and reviews on the knives that I own. I've been told by a source that I trust, Jimislash, that the AD-10 Customs have the tang sticking out when closed, too. So, the CS Taiwan Factory did an excellent job with making an affordable CS AD-10 that everyone can afford and enjoy. I know I will have several; I love the CS AD Tri-Ad Lock; it's the best and strongest lock that I've seen for an SDEDC Folder, ever. I never worry about a Tri-Ad failing me. To me, that's a good feeling to have about an SDEDC Folder... Peace, Stiletto :)
