Knives FAST Review: Benchmade Bugout Mini

Published: 4 years ago

Hello All.Time for the first Knives FAST review in 9 months. And what a great one to start it back up with. I had wanted a Benchmade Bugout for some time. So, on my recent visit to Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville, TN (which is my favorite store on the planet), I went to the Benchmade counter to check one out. I loved them, but once I held a Mini that had just came out, I knew I had to have one. Thanks to the great SMKW staff for helping me out and letting be take out every Bugout and Bugout Mini option for comparison. So, I walked out with this awesome orange Mini ( of 1,200 on the first production run) and I love it. Look, I have a ton of large knives, but just a few smaller ones. And,I don't really have small knives that are also light and a deep pocket carry. It just made sense. I will eventually get a full size bugout, but for now, I absolutely made the right choice.

I had seen another reviewer compare it to the Spyderco Delica. Look, I love Spyderco, but this is a NO WAY for me.The Delica is one of my least favorite Spyderco knives. It has my least favorite lock (Lock Back), It is clunky feeling and much thicker, and it has VG-10 steel rather than the S30V that the Bugout has. I had one for while, and I sold it as quickly as I could. Short story, I love the bugout mini way more. It just feels better in the hand and pocket and is VERY capable. Not to mention the amazing action and the Axis lock. I love this knife an it hasn't left my pocket since.

Please see SMKW link page with details on the knife below since that is where I bought it. They do make it in a white handle with black blade version.
