Kizer Microbe Review | My Favorite 5th Pocket Knife Gets a Bold New Look!

The Kizer Microbe has become one of my absolute favorite fifth-pocket knives, and Kizer continues to release new versions of this compact little EDC blade. Today I'm taking a look at the latest version featuring a bold and unique aluminum foil-infused G10 handle paired with a 14C28N blade.
Designed by Maxim Epifantsev, the Kizer Microbe may look a little unusual at first glance, but once you put it in your hand, the ergonomics make a lot of sense. This tiny knife fills the hand surprisingly well, has a compact and capable blade, excellent jimping, and Kizer's unique button-actuated liner lock.
This new version stands out thanks to the metallic foil layered into the G10. The result is a handle with plenty of texture, durability, and a very different look from the other Micarta, G-Carta, carbon fiber, and G10 versions of the Microbe that I've collected.

The Kizer Microbe is small enough to disappear into a watch pocket, making it a great backup knife or a compact primary EDC for anyone who doesn't need a large blade. Despite its size, the blade geometry is thin and slicey, making this little knife excellent for packages, mail, cardboard, and everyday utility tasks.
I've reviewed and carried several versions of the Microbe, and this aluminum foil G10 version brings a fresh look to an already fantastic design. Whether you prefer Micarta, G-Carta, glow carbon fiber, traditional G10, or this new metallic foil-infused handle, the Microbe remains one of the most unique compact knives in Kizer's lineup.
