Not Your Average Cooper Minnow Review
Today I'm taking a look at one of my favorite pickups from Blade Show 2026—the Minnow from Not Your Average Cooper.
I had this knife for about three months before sitting down to make this video, and it all started with a chance introduction at Blade Show.
My buddy, Bugsy Craftswork's wife introduced me to Cody Cooper and his partner at their table, and I'm glad she did. Not Your Average Cooper had a variety of handmade knives, leather goods, and hand-forged jewelry, but one particular little fixed blade immediately caught my attention.
The Minnow.
This particular version is the Bird and Trout Edition, featuring a hand-ground 80CrV2 blade, beautiful Micarta handles, brass pins, and a handmade leather sheath.

The Minnow is also available in other blade styles, including a more spear-point/fighter-style blade and a mini Bowie version.
One of the things I love most about this knife is the size. It's a true small pocket fixed blade, coming in at just over 5 inches overall while still giving me enough handle to get a comfortable grip.
The blade stock is substantial, but the Bird and Trout grind brings the edge down thin, making this little knife an absolute laser beam through material.
At around $150 with the handmade leather sheath, I thought this was a fantastic value for a handmade knife from a small custom maker.
