Today we’re taking a close look at one of the most beautiful traditional slip joints to hit my collection, the Great Eastern Cutlery Northfield UN-X-LD 470123 in smooth white bone. This full size Wharncliffe packs gorgeous 1095 carbon steel, incredible walk-and-talk, and that classic GEC fit and finish collectors chase like crazy.
I break down the blade shape, pull strength, carry feel, comparisons against other GECs and traditionals, and why this may be one of my favorite slip joints I own. If you’re into GEC knives, traditional folders, carbon steel slip joints, or collectible American-made knives, this one is absolutely worth seeing.
