The Spyderco Ikuchi was designed by Paul Alexander, Ph.D., a mechanical engineer and knife enthusiast. It features a slim, minimalist design with carbon fiber/G-10 laminate scales and a skeletonized stainless steel liner. The blade is a full flat ground CPM-S30V steel with a satin finish. It utilizes Spyderco's patented Compression Lock and a wheel flipper (similar to the spark wheel on a lighter) for easy one-hand operation. For convenient carry, it comes with an ambidextrous deep carry wire pocket clip.
