Hinderer Knives Jurassic Spear Point Stonewashed Blue Tri-Way Pivot Flipper

Details

The Jurassic flipper from Rick Hinderer Knives has all the curves and humps of something you might find from the Mesozoic Era, but fits right in with its 21st Century brethren. Rick outfitted this model with a nice wide spear point blade sporting a reinforced high height saber grind which pairs well with the humpbacked handle built on the typical, hard-use Hinderer frame lock construction with G10 front scale. This version comes with a stonewashed CPM-20CV blade, blue frame and liner, and "XM" textured blue G10 front scale.

Brand new, direct from Hinderer Knives, USA.

Gen 2: Hardened steel lock face insert and Tri-Way Pivot, detailed below.

Blade: The 20CV spear point blade has enough belly to tackle everyday tasks while being robust enough for heavy field work. It comes with a rugged stonewashed finish that hides wear from use while looks great. Deployment is fast and smooth thanks to the innovative, user-customizable Tri-Way pivot system bearings (installed) via the dual thumb studs or flipper tab. A raised thumb ramp with comfortable jimping enhances control and power when utilized for heavy cutting.

Handle: The full titanium frame lock side and liner have a matching stonewashed and blue anodized finish with the show side dressed in an "XM" textured G10 handle scale for reliable traction. The ergonomics are fantastic, with dual finger grooves on the bottom and a nice scoop to rest your thumb on the top. Construction on the Jurassic features a single barrel spacer midway down the spine with a flat H.M.B.S. (Hinderer Modular Back-spacer System) and LockBar Stabilizer.

Carries via a reversible, right-hand only titanium pocket clip.

Tri-Way Pivot: The newest innovation from Rick Hinderer, the Tri-Way pivot features milled pockets in the blade and frame allowing for the use of ball bearing pivot washers (installed) or, utilizing steel spacers to fill those pockets, you can use either of the included sets of nylon or bronze washers to customize the action and operation of your knife.

CPM-20CV: CPM-20CV (analog to Bohler M390 and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high carbide content for some of the highest edge retention and corrosion resistance while being relatively easy to sharpen. A popular choice for high-end production and custom knives. Relatively high carbide volume and coarse microstructure gives this steel lower toughness.
