Ganzo Firebird F759: Not Terrible, But Not For Me

Published: 7 years ago

***Update: In the few hours that this video has been posted I've gotten a number of messages and comments that lead me to believe I may have gotten a lemon when it comes to lock up. While I doubt my opinion on the scales will change, I ordered a 2nd copy of this knife as well as a Byrd Meadowlark 2 so that we can see these knives on camera next to each other and do a true comparison. Thank you for your feedback. Here is a link to that update video:

My review of this interesting Firebird model. On paper, it should be a homerun, but the execution and quality of materials was a big let down for me.

I did a lot of supposition when it comes to the lock up and scales, so if you know more than I do about the specifics of the materials, please let me know.

At the end of the day, I just expect more now when it comes to what Ganzo and Firebird can do. This is a departure from the growth I've seen from them, and while it's unfortunate it is just one knife and not really indicative at all of my overall feelings for the brand.

Next: A Benchmade unboxing and more.
Soon: Spyderco Stretch 2 testing.

Thanks for watching and take care!
