Spyderco PPT Sprint Run: Great Knife, But Worth the Price?
Published: 6 years ago
Here's a look at the Perrin PPT, a new Sprint Run from Spyderco with excellent carbon fiber handle scales and S90V blade steel. I ran out of storage space on my phone as I was wrapping it up, so if there's any further questions about value let me know down below.
Really great knife to use with a hefty build at 4.86 ounces, but the price is the biggest purchasing factor, and at $235+ you've got to really like this design or the upgrades in order to get it. Personally, I think resale value will be decent, so I was willing to make the investment to pick it up. That said, the knife is overbuilt and wants to be used, so it'll probably be in rotation for a good while.
The original PPT might be a steal right now if it can be found at a reasonable price. The CF scales are certainly an improvement over the old model's G10, but that compromise might be worth the difference in price.
I also completely bogarted the term "drop shuttiness" from Slicey dicey. Check out his channel https://youtu.be/Z_B542VFh2s
