Benchmade Puukko First Look From Blade Show West

Although I don't talk about fixed blades often, this new Benchmade Puukko looks like it might be a real winner. Great steel, excellent ergos, and what I think is a nice price point (available for presale at $123 in some places). The texture in hand is great, and even though there isn't jimping, the finish on the spine is not slick at all and actually grabs your thumb, so you can get good purchase if you need to choke up.

More than anything, it's exciting to see Benchmade branch out with a new steel. The last time they did that was with 20CV a few years ago and it completely overhauled their catalog to a new level of quality.
