The Glock Knife is a saw-back knife. The difference between the FM78 and the FM81 is that the FM78 has no saw back. The Glock knife was born as a result of a collaborative effort between Glock and the Austrian army’s Jagdkommando special forces.

A part of the Austrian Special forces brief was that the Glock knife needs to be suitable for throwing. The blade design is a clip point and the thinned edge of the clip is sharpened to form a true second cutting edge. Consequently giving great penetration when throwing.

The blade is crafted from SAE 1095 spring steel. Subsequently, heat-treated to a hardness of 55 Rockwell.
