TwoSun newer S90V Cut Test: Conclusion (Knife Content)

Published: 4 years ago

Well, this impressed me greatly. I did my best here in the states to reproduce the Cedrick & Ada's channel cut testing. Previously, I did the cut test with the TS128-Dynamo and got about 300 cuts to their ~200, but things are a bit different.

I sharpen my knives on the WorkSharp Ken Onion with blade grinder attachment which puts slightly convex edges on them. The premium steels, I sharpen to 15 degree, where as they sharpen on a KME to 17 degree. Also they utilize 10mm rope which is more difficult to find Stateside, so I utilize 3/8" rope, which is a little over 9.5mm.

As such, it's not pure apples to apples, but the methodology is close. It clearly shows an improvement on newer TwoSun blades using S90V, up to where S90V should be performing. That puts my mind at ease.

This knife is the TS187-Fangtooth. I've seen some recent offerings of this knife come in M390 as well. Not sure if that's a variant, or replacement.

Next up. Checking out their performance on M390.
