TwoSun Tuesday: TS41 NightMorning Design in S90V (Knife Content)

Published: 3 years ago

The first TwoSun Tuesday of 2021! Apologies for missing last week. I shot the video, even uploaded it, but forgot to create a thumbnail for it and schedule it to go live. As it was focused to the holidays of 2020, I'll end up redoing it for next week.

Anyway, this is the TS41. An interesting NightMorning design that boasts S90V. Unlike most of their small knives, this one is a full frame lock folder, rather than a slip joint or double detent. While there is a tiny learning curve to holding it when deploying the blade, it jumps out right or left handed very easily, despite the blade being just shy of 2".

I'm of two minds with the steel. I've seen S90V from them perform on par with D2, and I've seen it also perform where it should. They've improved their heat treat of the steel over time. However, with this knife having such a low model number, I'm not sure exactly where it will perform. It depends on if this is a new run of production (purchased this in December 2020), or more stock from an earlier run. Only time will tell.

Specs:
2" S90V blade with 3.6 mm stock thickness
1.39 oz / 39 gram weight
0.45" handle thickness (Blackened Ti)
Frame Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
