Kitchen Kutlery: Messermeister Park Plaza Veggie Cleaver (Knife Content)
Published: 3 years ago
Out of the most known German brands of kitchen knives, Messermeister is my favorite. They offer inexpensive food service blades all the way up to some crazy nice high end pieces.
This here "Park Plaza" model (that name refers to the handle, much like "Pro-S" or "Four Star" is to Henckels) has been one heck of a work horse for me for well over a decade. This is a stamped blade, so it's not a part of their Elite series, but it's still German-made and has been rock solid.
The X50CrMoV15 steel isn't anything to write home about, and is treated as a European kitchen knife, so the Rockwell is around 55-57. It puts it basically on par with the rest of the German cutlery out there. Designed to be easily maintained and not too hard that a honing rod would chip the blade.
