QSP Hawk in Micarta: Review & Teardown (Knife Content)
Published: 3 years ago
I'd had my eyes on the original incarnation of the Hawk in the wood handles and damascus blade, but never pulled the trigger on it.
Long time later, and they came out with more variants of it. This has a blue linen micarta handle (wish it was their denim micarta, but alas), a 14C28N blade and the rest of it is the same.
The handle length on this is just a bit too short for me. With a standard grip, I have 3.5 fingers of grip. You can grip it further forward on the flipper tab, but I don't find it comfortable enough.
The detent is perfectly tuned for deployment with thumb studs and the flipper which proves difficult for some manufacturers. The action is also quite nice.
Specs:
3.25" 14C28N blade with 2.9 mm stock thickness
3.67 oz / 104 gram weight
0.55" handle thickness (Micarta)
Liner Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
