TwoSun Tuesday: TS115 Caleb Fechner designed with D2 Blade (Knife Content)
Published: 3 years ago
Here come that TwoSun'a comin' blues
This here's another Caleb Fechner design. A bit more traditional than last week's Aranea. I'm not familiar with a given name for this design. It's interesting for sure. I wasn't aware of the carbon fiber laminate until it showed up. I thought it was just a different color of G10.
This guy has a bit of a flaw in that the blade is a bit too close to the spine of the handle, so it's susceptible to blade dings. You can touch it as well, but not without a conscious effort to do so. It's something easily done when trying to make a compact design. It can be overcome to a large degree by extending the back spacer, but since this thing has flutes cut in the back, it wouldn't go along with the design philosophy.
Specs:
3.6" D2 blade with 3.3 mm stock thickness
3.29 oz / 93 gram weight
0.52" handle thickness (G10 & CF Laminate)
Liner Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
