Slippy-J Sunday: Real Steel Luna Storm Trooper (Knife Content)

Relatively interesting slipjoint today. I know this has about a million variants at this point, but this one intrigued me, and it helped me get free shipping when I purchased the Boker Bonfire.

It's very angular. Reminds me of the Metamorph from them. Similar lines and whatnot.

It doesn't have a half-stop, but more of a 3/4 stop. It's certainly a choice. I suppose it might help if you choked up on the blade and it disengaged so it wouldn't snap to half-stop and cut into your index finger? I'm not a giant fan of it in general though, as it does make it a bit more difficult to close than others.

Blade stock thickness on this makes a lot of sense being slicey. With it having G10 without liners, you kind of want that so as to not promote hard use. You can get away with harder use with thicker G10 (Think Spyderco Native series) but that's far removed from what this is.

While it's nice to see a pocket clip included, it's far from perfect. It's very thin which makes it a bit pointier than it needs to be. You can't swap sides, making this uncomfortable for lefties, and you need to fully disassemble the knife to remove it or tighten it if it becomes loose.

Last up, it's very difficult to create a pure white G10. Especially when you have black hardware and blade. It ends up looking dingy and this is no exception. Probably why other companies will go with a cream color for light G10.

Specs:
2.75" D2 blade with 2.3 mm stock thickness
1.74 oz / 49.5 gram weight
0.36" handle thickness (G10)
