Petrified Fish PF919 in D2 & G10: Review & Teardown (Knife Content)

Published: 3 years ago

I've seen this company floating around there in the ocean of knives and wanted to take a look at one. Purchased it from Amazon, and it shipped from Canada. Weird but ok.

This thing has a kind of rhinoceros horn thing going on at the top that I don't think is all that necessary. It's part of the scoop out for an index finger groove, but it works without it there as well.

The hole in the blade and flipper allow you to open it in 3 ways. Flipper tab, spidey flick & thumb roll. That's always nice when your thumb has access to a blade cutout.

It's a comfortable knife, but not one I'd recommend. It has some problems, like:
Bearings aren't smooth due to coating on liners
Weak hardware, too easy to strip threads on screws
Plunge grind overlaps the edge by a country mile

Specs:
3.45" D2 blade with 3.9mm stock thickness
4.75 oz / 134.5 gram weight
0.56" handle thickness (G10)
Liner Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
