Curiosity Review: Xanfa Santiago in Micarta and 440C (Knife Content)
Published: 3 years ago
Alright, this thing has a surprising amount of quality for it being $15. Sharp out of the box, decent quality micarta and a (supposed) 440C blade.
This thing is basically a sodbuster, except the tip is more of a spear point.
There are some downsides though. This is a 2-hand opener only, there's no flipper or stud or anything. There also isn't a clip, so this will sit at the bottom of a pocket. Thus why I'd label it as a "modern traditional". It might be useful on a work bench or something, like an Opinel.
We have bronze washers internally, however there is a thin teflon washer on one side. The pivot being circular and permanent threadlocker applied, it was very difficult to get open. I also think the micarta scales are a bit thicker than they need to be.
Specs:
3.05" 440C blade with 2.7 mm stock thickness
2.76 oz / 78 gram weight
0.59" handle thickness (Ti)
Liner Lock
Bronze (and teflon) washer & steel detent
