First Impressions: TwoSun TS270 Mazwan Mokhtar in Titanium & 14C28N
Published: 3 years ago
Aight, I'm all 'boust this design! We have a large "sheepscliffe" blade with a gradual belly and a great stonewash finish. Even though the hole looks a little awkward, it's great for thumb flicking, just like the TS129, and spidey flicking is just as easy. It's also stupid thin behind the edge
The shoulders of the scales swell outward to give your thumb more purchase, like the TS249 I talked about recently. The spine of the handles are mated all the way up, so the blade is protected and it's very comfortable. There's also an internal lockbar relief and milling inside to cut down on some weight. It's no featherweight, especially due to the mated spines being integral to each side.
There are a few caveats though. First, the tip looks to be a bit delicate. Don't make me no nevermind, but could irk some folks. Mazwan's been on a kick with his pocket clips having a ball contact rather than a wider patch, so it's not the smoothest to clip in. Lastly, it has a very gradual plunge grind, so the blade will smile within the first sharpening or two.
Still though, this is an absolute banger. I love it much more than the TS300 I picked up around the same time.
Specs:
3.65" 14C28N blade with 3.8 mm stock thickness
4.85 oz / 137.5 gram weight
0.51" handle thickness (Ti)
Frame Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
