Slippy-J Sunday: TwoSun TS161 Hou Yue Dong Design in Bone & Ti with M390 Blade
Published: 3 years ago
This seems to be a collaboration between Hou Yue Dong & NightMorning Design. Much more similar to Hou Yue Dong's other offering though.
Slipjoint with bone scales and screws. As with the others, you kind of want to be careful not to over-tighten any screws or you'll split or crack the bone scales. Speaking of, they're nicely contoured and you have titanium liners underneath (I've ano'd mine blue).
As with the other Hou Yue Dong knife, this one has a thick bladestock as well. Not quite as wide as I first assumed, but still very wide for its overall dimensions.
Due to the blade shape, it's virtually straight-backed, and only "drops" in the last half inch or so. That does keep a lot of that curve up to the tip a bit inaccessible for some utility cuts, but it's still useful for skinning or cutting something down on a surface.
Specs:
2.77" M390 blade with 3.3 mm stock thickness
2.39 oz / 67.5 gram weight
0.51" handle thickness (Ti & Bone)
Bronze washers
