TwoSun Tuesday: TS118 Max Tkachuk Design in Ti/Copper with M390 Blade

Published: 2 years ago

Apologies as this one was recorded months ago, and I forgot to post it as I got giddy to start Jelly Jerry models (which will commence next week).

I got this one "used" from a Facebook group. They listed it at a great price, and I hadn't seen them listed on eBay for quite some time. As soon as it shipped, TwoSun started listing them again. Figures.

Still, this one was "used" as in the previous owner sharpened it. I sharpened it as well when I got it. It wasn't a bad edge at all, just not the angle I usually want. Got-Dayum this thing was a pain in the ass to sharpen. Seems like a good indicator that the HRC is up there.

I thought this was going to be very similar to the TS135, but I was wrong. This here's a thicc boy. The titanium scales are quite thick and it lacks a bit of the contouring that the TS135 has. The blade is also a lot thicker. It's still a reverse tanto-ish shape, but has a continuous belly rather than the transition.

Specs:
3.49" M390 blade with 4 mm stock thickness
4.22 oz / 119.5 gram weight
0.58" handle thickness (Ti & Copper)
Frame Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
