Sitivien ST100: Crossbar Lock in Black Micarta & D2 Blade

Published: 2 years ago

I've sat on this thing for a couple months as I had tried to review it, but kept forgetting something or not being happy with it. I think this does it justice.

It's a knife. There's not a huge amount of it that stands out. It's using some decent micarta, and the crossbar (Axis) lock. Seems to be an original design to me, and up to Ganzo's standards as far as build quality. These guys don't seem to utilize or "heavily borrow" from existing designs, so if Ganzo's crossbar models irk you (They've taken the Spyderco PM2 & Stretch 2 designs, the RAT Model 2, Benchmade Bedlam and others), these guys might pique your interest.

It has bearings in the pivot. Interestingly, I've had quite a few crossbar locks with bearings, and none of them feel quite right to me when closing them, and this one is no different. They're smooth, but you still feel the blade moving, probably because the bearing cages are a touch larger than the pivot.

Specs:
3.6" D2 blade with 3.35 mm stock thickness
4.24 oz / 120 gram weight
0.62" handle thickness (Micarta)
Crossbar Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
