TwoSun Tuesday: TS224 "Viper" Jelly-Jerry Design in Ti & CF with 14C28N or M390 Blade
Published: 2 years ago
Back to the Jelly Jerry's. This one is the TS224 or "Viper". I have the one in 14C28N, but it's also produced with an M390 blade with no other changes made.
This, for whatever reason, is one of the most fall-shutty TwoSuns in my collection. Part of that is the blade thickness, especially the thicker bit at the tip, but it's smoother regardless than others.
It's a bit smaller than a lot of his other designs, so it might appeal to those who like smaller designs for EDC. It's still a 3.5" blade, but feels smaller overall.
About the only thing partially bad I could say about it is the CF inlay on the front is held in with adhesive rather than being screwed in. You won't have any trouble with it falling out, but if you want to remove it for anodization or a deep cleaning, it's not going to be possible without a heat gun.
The blade is an amalgamation of a lot of things. It's a compound grind American tanto, but also a clip point with a harpoon hump. The blade cants down just a scosch to keep a bit more of an aggressive cut going if your hand is parallel to the ground.
Specs:
3.5" 14C28N blade with 3.8 mm stock thickness
3.94 oz / 111.5 gram weight
0.53" handle thickness (Ti & CF)
Frame Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
