Kizer PPY & Update on the Towser K
Published: 3 years ago
Welp, I started this off by saying I think of this as the lesbian knife because it's name is the PPY...
Before that though, I gave an update on my Towser K trouble. After talking with Kizer's customer service and following some of their instructions, they determined that the knife is faulty. They don't have anymore of the richlite versions available, so I opted to have it replaced with the red micarta variant. It's currently on the way to me. They didn't mention anything about me shipping the faulty one back, so if I don't hear from them after I receive the new one, I'll go back to my original plan and file the lockbar down. If all goes well, I'll have both variants of the Towser K!
Anyway, back to the PPY. It's pretty much an amalgamation of a few different Kizer knives. Like the Begleiter and Domin, it's an Azo design. Azo seems to like proud liners which isn't my preference, but they're not crazy proud.
The handle comfortably fits my hands even though the blade is only 3 1/4", and it easily comes in under that lightweight metric of 1 oz per inch. The micarta also has a nice texture to it like the Rapids, which is different than you'll find on the Begleiter 2 or Grazioso.
Specs:
3.25" 154CM blade with 2.8 mm stock thickness
2.85 oz / 81 gram weight
0.50" handle thickness (Micarta)
Liner Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
