Boker Urban Trapper BladeHQ Exclusive: Brad Zinker Design in G10 with M390 Blade
Published: 3 years ago
If you can't tell through the video, I'm not supremely jazzed about the knife. The original frame lock version was alright, but this feels like they took a great blade and then found the cheapest viable option for a handle. I don't know if that was Blade HQ targeting the $80 price point, or if Boker phoned it in themselves without further intervention, but it's got plenty of flaws.
The liners are fairly thin. That mixed with the fact that there isn't a back spacer, and you have a knife that flexes more than the OG Bugout. It feels very fragile, like I can snap it in half accidentally.
We have liners that are proud of the scales by quite a bit, so it's not supremely comfortable to begin with, but if you do apply hand squeezing force, it will creak and can shove the lockbar further into the blade tang.
Not that I think they're readily available at this point, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Specs:
3.46" M390 blade with 2.5 mm stock thickness
1.94 oz / 55 gram weight
0.39" handle thickness (G10)
Liner Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
