TwoSun Tuesday: TS231 Vincent Oliver Design in Titanium with 14C28N Blade
Published: 2 years ago
This here's an interesting piece from Vincent Oliver. Quite a different shape than the gigantic sheepsfoot of the TS47. This thing is ultra sleek. The handle scales are highly contoured. It might look like the backend of the handle is just too small, but it works amaingly well.
This was one of my first ano jobs, using blue and gold. It looks pretty nice, but learned a lesson in that finger oils will refract it's color on polished titanium.
This one was drop-shutty out of the box. Doing an initial clean and re-lube didn't improve the action much at all.
It's easily deployed via the flipper tab, or spidey flick with the hole. Not one that you'd be able to slow roll open with your thumb though.
The blade is decently long, and seems more than 3.25". Probably due to the spike at the top of the handle. It has a slight recurve near the base and a very suble drop point near the end.
Specs:
3.25" 14C28N blade with 3.7 mm stock thickness
3.65 oz / 103 gram weight
0.49" handle thickness (Ti)
Frame Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
