TwoSun Tuesday: TS146-D2 Button Lock in Ti & Micarta with 3.25" D2 Blade
Published: 2 years ago
This thing is about the most egregious "snaggletooth" I've come across lately. The blade at the spine is very exposed alll the way down the handle. I removed a decent amount of blade height to combat this. In the process, the blade is now fairly thick behind the edge.
Despite it being a NightMorning design after the 313 and 338, this does not utilize multirow bearings. I don't think it needs it though, the blade is already amazingly smooth.
This thing skirts the clip mounted with one point into inset micarta issue by having thicker ti parts of the scales at the back (rear bolster?), which the clip mounts onto. The Micarta is also a pretty good implementation of what I'm assuming is canvas rather than their basic burlappy stuff. The fit and finish isn't fantastic between the onlays and the scales, but whatevs.
I can spidey flick the thing out sometimes. Your mileage may vary on that. But you can slow roll it out with a thumb if you want to be more discreet.
Specs:
3.25" D2 blade with 3.8 mm stock thickness
5.11 oz / 144.5 gram weight
0.64" handle thickness (Ti & Micarta)
Button Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
