TwoSun Tuesday: TS178 "Tentara" NightMorning & Tepe Design Collab with 2.91" S90V Blade & Ti Scales
Published: 2 years ago
I won this at eBay auction for a damned good price. Well under a Benjamin. Karambits aren't my favorite designs, but this one transcends that a bit.
This is a much less aggressive curve to the blade that makes it much easier for EDC rather than just tactical applications. The finger choil is also enormous (i.e. I can use it comfortably), so that give me 3 forward positions to grip the knife in, as well as reverse hammer.
The detent on this specimen is crisp. Somewhere between McDonalds Sprite and Santana DVX wine. You can also comfortably spidey flick it open if you so desire. The ring at the back, also large enough. Not for me to fully shove my index finger through, but that's not needed for reverse hammer grip.
Bearing mounted on the pocket clip works great for me, and is easy enough to slide into the pocket, even though the bearing is recessed, due to how flexible the clip is. It might be slightly more fragile than others because of that, but I haven't run into trouble yet.
It's just an amazingly useful hawkbill blade. And the S90V isn't a slouch on it either.
Specs:
2.91" CPM-S90V blade with 4 mm stock thickness
5.47 oz / 155 gram weight
0.57" handle thickness (Ti)
Frame Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
