TwoSun Tuesday: TS175 Tepe Design Buttonlock Tanto in Ti & Micarta with D2 Blade

Published: 2 years ago

There's a chungus amongus. It's this right here. This is quite a large piece by Tepe Design. Great for us with oversized metacarpi.

It's got a "snaggletooth" out of the box, so if you're worried about the blade being too close to the spine of the handle, I would take care of that sooner rather than later.

The other nitpick is the single anchor point into micarta. We're (hopefully) coming to an end of that era as Wong has implemented a great solution for it, while keeping the single screw aesthetic that TwoSun uses. But, we're not quite there yet.

I have correctional text in the video, because this does utilize multirow bearings. The action is great, and with such a beefy blade, it'll swing in the breeze with the best of 'em.

Ergonomics are quite good. It thins out a lot by the index finger and really locks in there, so I wouldn't feel any reservations about thrusting with force. Thumbstud deployment works great as well.

Specs:
3.6" D2 blade with 3.9 mm stock thickness
6.67 oz / 189 gram weight
0.67" handle thickness (Ti & Micarta)
Frame Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
