Sitivien ST237: Impressive & Fancy for Not too Much Scratch

Published: 2 years ago

Caveat I should throw out here as I experienced this with another in this same family: The screws being what they are, are susceptible to stripping.

So, I kinda bought this on a whim and was reasonably impressed with it.

First up, it's got "shadowboxed" liners which I'm not a personal fan of, but it's not as uncomfortable as many others are.

While reprofiling/sharpening this to 17 degrees, it felt very similar to other 154CM blades. Seeing as how RWL-34 is a powder metallurgy version of ATS-34, that's chemical siblings with 154CM, this makes sense, and gives me a bit of confidence that they're not pulling my leg with the steel.

The action on this thing is surprisingly good. I think this might come down to the fact that the blade is mirror polished with the steel cladding. With a flipper tab and a hole cutout for multiple deployment options, it's nice.

The pocket clip is rather serviceable as well. It's titanium, along with the bolsters. The screws can be a little finicky though, so keep that in mind if you like to disassemble your stuff.

Along with the titanium bolsters, we have some great marbled carbon fiber. I don't have any voids present on these scales, and it's much more "true to form" than Civivi's version which is more or less some shredded pieces layered sparsely in clear resin.

Specs:
3.26"/82.7mm RWL-34 blade with 3.25 mm stock thickness
3.75 oz / 106 gram weight
0.53"/13.5mm handle thickness (Ti & CF)
