TwoSun Tuesday: TS286 Wong Design in Ti & Micarta with 3.7" 14C28N Blade
Published: 2 years ago
I quite like this thing. The double distal taper really makes it nice for slicing tasks especially at the tip.
Also a leaf shaped blade really helps solidify the Spyderco styling this thing seems to exude.
Not sure why but the action on this particular model is fantastic
The handle ergonomics are quite comfortable in several different grips and of course this is the first model that Wong has made with a pocket clip going through Micarta. This one mitigates that issue of Micarta damage by adding an additional pin to the top of the pocket clip so it can keep that single screw look while adding a secondary attachment point.
This was improved on later models, adding an additional screw on the underside of the clip, but works equally well here.
Specs:
3.7" 14C28N blade with 3.7 mm stock thickness
4.72 oz / 133.5 gram weight
0.59" handle thickness (Ti & Micarta)
Frame Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
