Petrified Fish Beluga: Cold Steel-ish in Proportions & Fantastic Blade Geometry
Published: 2 years ago
This thing's been around for a while. I've been putting off picking up another PF as the first one I got had some cheap hardware and some threads got stripped (that being the PF919).
This thing is built with better hardware. the K110 blade is one of the sharpest I've measured out of the box. Despite it's thick stock, it comes down to an amazingly thin edge.
I also like that it comes with a set of washers in case you prefer them, or the environment you'll use it in needs that. I also appreciate that you can move the clip to the show side.
That clip though, has a bit of the feeling that Civivi's does. The clip itself is decently designed, but it's attachment points aren't crazy secure, so the clip can move around a bit and make creaking sounds against the scales.
It's about the only negative I really have to say on the piece though. Everything else about it seems nice. It also comes in quite a few variants, with micarta or G10 scales, and coated or uncoated blade... as well as a tanto shape if this whale belly isn't to your liking.
Specs:
3.64" (92.3mm) K110 blade with 3.8 mm stock thickness
5.05 oz / 143 gram weight
0.60" (15.4mm) handle thickness (Micarta)
Liner Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball (Washers Included)
