Allvin R6252: Handle Finishing Could Use Some Work, but the M390 Blade is impressive for the price

Published: 2 years ago

This one seems pretty damned cool. I'd love if they knocked down some of the sharp corners that were created when milling the scales as they can feel a bit sharp. It's not really prevalent until you apply a lot of force though.

It also could use some help as far as detent strength. I should try to increase the lockbar tension to see if that helps it a bit.

The blade on this thing is pretty damned good though. Plunge grind is great, I like the shape and geometry of it as well. It took an amazing amount of effort to reprofile/sharpen the blade. Significantly more than I experience with S35VN, and it holds it's edge really well. In this instance, I can believe the M390 stamp on it.

They also make a 6231. It's also a Ti handle, but it's the typical tanto-esque style with terrible blade geometry, so I'd suggest against that.

As of this point, I have another couple coming from them to see if they can remain consistent.
