TwoSun Tuesday: TS355 Wong Design in Ti & G10 with 3.52" D2 Hawkbill Blade

Published: 2 years ago

This is definitely my favorite hawkbill blade to date. The Tentara is a great knife, but the karambit ring isn't necessary for normal carry. Might not need to be said, but if you only have a fixed-angle sharpener, especially a KME or Apex Edge Pro, you're not going to effectively sharpen this thing due to the curvature without some specialty stones.

The action on this thing is impeccable out of the box. I did open it up, apply my mix of KPL lube and tune the pivot, but unlike most, the action didn't improve, but I didn't think it would.

The thumb deployment device lends itself to a slow roll open. You can easily flick it open if you get your thumb to the bottom, so it might take a bit to get used to it, but works great. And it also has a flipper that works well, and amazingly the detent works great for both deployment types.

Blade geometry works well for slicing, and I appreciate the swedge to thin the tip out. Makes a lot of utility cuts easier to do.
