TwoSun Tuesday: TS327 Caleb Fechner Design in Micarta or Ti&CF with D2 or M390 Blade

Published: 1 year ago

This is a newer design by Caleb Fechner. Something I think holds it back a lot for more EDC tasks is the blade geometry is nowhere thin enough. It can be a powerful cutter, but can get bound up in material like cardboard due to the thick stock and saber grind.

You can reverse flick these open, but it does require a bit of dedication due to the detent strength being tuned for the flipper tabs.

I do like that the micarta version has nested liners. It's using their newer canvas micarta, but the dye job on them is maybe a little spotty.

Granted I won both of these through eBay auctions, they did have over a $100 price disparity between them. I don't particularly think this design needed a ti&cf framelock variant in M390 as you get 90% of the functionality out of the micarta version for a lot less money.
