TwoSun Tuesday: TS145 NightMorning Design in Ti with Micarta Inlay with 3.57" D2 Blade
Published: 1 year ago
Could have sworn I reviewed this bad boy a long time ago, but that’s probably because I’ve suggested it over the TS344 a few times. Before I go further, I do hear that the new batch of TS344’s in M390 have fewer issues than the originals… not sure if that’s just toning down the deep satin finish on the flats or if more has been done though.
Anyway, This thing is a great sheepscliffe knife, just like the TS344. Just a scoshe longer than the TS344, but includes a finger choil if you need more power at the heel. It has a nicely acute fuller for deployment like the TS344, but also includes a front flipper. It’s also a deep hollow grind… just like the TS344.
I think the clip is quite divisive. I enjoy it quite a bit as it bends and curves around my knuckles without getting in the way in standard, choked up and reverse grips, but I’m sure a lot of folks won’t be happy about it being as long as it is.
The Micarta is also a bit different. Possibly the same supplier that Civivi got for their Elementums, but polished up a bit more. It has that same Play-Doh feel. At least it’s not their early burlap stuff that was much more epoxy than fabric. The knife locks into the hand quite well, so the extra grip that some micarta can give wouldn’t be necessary anyway.
Specs:
3.57" (90.1 mm) D2 blade with 3.5 mm stock thickness
4.68 oz / 132.5 gram weight
0.60" (15.2 mm) handle thickness (Ti & Micarta)
Frame Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
