TwoSun Tuesday: TS153-C Wong Design in Titanium & Micarta with 3.78" D2 Blade

Published: 1 year ago

Like I said in the thumbnail, this thing is like an uncomfortable mashup of Wong’s TS336 & TS337. It’s not his finest work.

The Micarta onlays are spiky and make it uncomfortable to hold. This might not have been the case if they were contoured inlays, but that’s not what we have here. The pocket clip is also mounted into that micarta with only one mount point, something that the TS336 SPECIFICALLY addressed, and was an earlier release.

The blade is like a remix of the TS337, but a bit of the blade is too close to the top of the handle when closed, where the TS337 doesn’t have this issue. It also seems like the detent track isn’t as polished, so the action takes a hit over the TS337.

The TS337 is an amazing design and should be the knife to consider if this TS153 looks interesting to you. It’s just implemented much better. The pocket clip isn’t perfection on it, but it’s my only complaint.
