TwoSun Tuesday: TS357 Max Tkachuk Design in Ti & Micarta with 3.74" D2 Blade

Published: 1 year ago

Looks like I screwed up on the thumbnail for the length. Oops, but I'm too lazy to change it right now.

There’s a lot to love with this model, but it has a fundamental flaw that prevents me from using it more often. The pocket clip. It’s inset a little into fragile micarta by a single screw at the very end. The pocket clip could spin in a 360 right out of the box. At that point, I don’t have any faith that the knife will stay where I clip it.

I ended up just pulling the clip off of it altogether to keep from further damage of the micarta. I end up using it around my kitchen/wetbar area as the blade gives a bit more knuckle clearance than others.

Max knows his stuff, so I’m sure this was either a miscommunication with TwoSun, or something they “filled in the blanks” with in a less than ideal way. Either way, I’d love to see this thing revised to have the pocket clip go all the way through the micarta and have the “key” milled into the titanium subframe, as that’d easily fix the issue and have this amazing lightweight knife be viable.
