TwoSun Tuesday: TS423 Monarch on a Budget - Jelly-Jerry Design in Steel with 3.6" D2 Blade
Published: 1 year ago
I didn’t put things together when I first purchased this thing, but quickly realized it when came. This is essentially a budget version of the popular TS223 “Monarch”. The blade and handle are identical, but the measurements are a bit different. It’s a touch thinner in the handle and blade stock thickness. And the flipper tab is changed a bit.
With TwoSun’s higher prices on all their models these days, including the budget models, I’d highly suggest to pick up a TS223 instead if it’s in your budget. The handle is more comfortable, flipper tab isn’t an issue when open and it utilizes M390. It’s twice the price, but easily twice the knife.
The steel handles are interesting, but there’s a reason why it’s not done all that often. It’s super heavy. Despite the TS223 having a thicker handle and blade stock, it’s an ounce lighter than this thing.
Specs:
3.6" (91.3 mm) D2 blade with 3.4 mm stock thickness
5.48 oz / 155.5 gram weight
0.50" (12.6 mm) handle thickness (Steel)
Frame Lock
Ceramic bearings & detent ball
