TwoSun Tuesday: TS157 Wong Design with 3.79" D2 Blade in G10 with Titanium Sub-Frame

Published: 1 year ago

Alright. This dude’s weird. The pocket clip is attached to the pivot, so it’s tip down, and located on the left (show) side which is pretty much the opposite of what most expect.
I think this is designed more to be carried above the waist as a result, possibly on a vest or something. That will keep the knife in the position to easily deploy the blade via the flipper. That would make it more of a purpose-built knife rather than EDC, but I can’t quite work out for what purpose. The color rules out tactical. Makes me think search and rescue, but the knife is too aggressive or “pokey” to be suited to that task.
At least the clip stays out of the way of your hand. If a lot of force is being applied, pocket clips will almost always present hot spots over time. This clip doesn't come in contact with your hand at all, unless you're using a pinch grip.
Either way, it’s built a lot like the TS283, where it’s got a sub-frame of titanium with the G10 onlaid on top. It’s surprisingly comfortable, but the aggressive curve on the inside of the handle does prevent it from being used for a paring or chest lever grip. The action is also pretty impressive
It’s a fun knife for sure, but more of a curiosity. I can’t imagine this will be anyone’s favorite TwoSun, but for the crazies like myself that collect these guys, it’s in interesting addition.
