TwoSun Tuesday: TS416 Mazwan Mokhtar Design in Ti & G10 with 3.59" D2 Blade

Published: 1 year ago

This seems to me to be a little bit of a departure from Mazwan’s norm, speaking from the yellow and red G10. The blade’s still fairly large, the pocket clip is still difficult to use, and an aspect of the design is meant for normal to smaller hands, so it’s definitely still his style though.

The large finger groove in the handle is designed for the index and middle finger. My fingers don’t quite fit there, so I get the hump on my middle finger if I hold it as designed. You can choke up though which helps alleviate that for us “gifted” in hand size.

The blade is done well, nice geometry, and thanks to the full length back spacer, there’s no threat of blade peeking or “snaggletooth”. No blade wrap either, so they didn’t undergrind this guy has TwoSun has previously done to his Barracuda and Basilisk designs.

One of the very few TwoSun’s that you can move the pocket clip. It’s wide enough, but they chose against adding a second attachment point. G10’s fairly resilient, but this can still lead to pocket clip wiggle… just over years rather than weeks or months.
