Let's meet A father and son business with my bad jokes and all.
Tuch Knives is a father son business that makes some the highest quality, heirloom grade handmade knives in the world. Under the mentorship of Butch Vallotton and Tim Herman, William Tuch developed a skill set matched by very few other makers. His vast knowledge of automatic and old school art knife making techniques has led to a remarkable portfolio of work over the past 20 years in the business. Eric, his son, has been honing his skills for the past 10 years, working side by side with his father, learning everything William has to teach.
The idea for this giveaway originated from a common occurrence that has happened over the years. There have been countless people that see and appreciate our work, but are not financially able to purchase one of our knives. We found ourselves saying, time and time again, "I wish I could just give it to you." And we meant it. This venture solves just that. Not only are we giving away a spectacular knife, but an additional $5000 will be awarded as part of the grand prize, in order to really change someone's life for the better.
On the other side of the altruistic motivation, is an ulterior motive. Along with the ability to change someone's life, this venture also allows us to push our creative limits and make the highest quality, most intricate pieces of functional art, without the worry of how much time is going into a single piece. We get to do what we love, with complete creative freedom, on top of being able to give more back to knife community that we love. We are extremely grateful for everyone that participates and makes this dream a reality.
