Microtech OSS Cobra vs Mikov Automatic Knife

Published: 10 years ago

In this video I am showing the differences and similarities between these two knives. The influences the Mikov auto has on the Cobra is undeniable. I will let you decide if this is something to be frowned upon or not.

The MIKOV Company is one of the oldest knife companies in the Czech Republic (former Czechoslovakia). Established in 1794 by Ignac Rosler it quickly became the leading producer of quality cutlery in its region. In 19th century the company had two factories - Sandrik and Koh-I-Noor. In 1955 those two factories united and MIKOV company was founded. Nowadays MIKOV is the biggest knife company in the Czech Republic - a manufacturer of a wide variety of folding knives, fixed blades, kitchen cutlery, scissors and office equipment.
It is possible to say that if there is any traditional knife in our country it must be a Mikov folder.

Materials: Mikov auto knives have blades made of 440A stainless steel. Exclusive lines use Damasteel and now also RWL-34. Some fixed blades are made of 440C steel. Scales are made from black or yellow ABS plastic, exotic wood (Cocobolo, Turkish walnut, Snakewood, Amboyna), real stag, buffalo horn and bone. All singlebladed automatic knives are made for left handed users as well.
