Dutch Oven Cooking - Most Tender Spare Ribs

Published: 8 years ago

These were the best Spare-Ribs I ever had. And I don't say that often about my own cooking.
The Dutch oven I used is a 6QT Petromax.

How to make:

preperation time: 2 days / 3-4 hours of slow cooking

Ingredients:
- Cola / coke
- Ginger bread
- Spare Ribs / back rips ( i used 2 full ribs)
- sweet potato (how much you like, I used 2 potato's)
- Union (as much as you like)
- Courgette / zucchini
- Paprika 1 or 2
- 1 or 2 pieces of cut garlic
- Steak mix seasoning, chili seasoning or whatever you like

1: Put the ribs inside the coke (completely submerged)
2: mix in the cut ginger bread
3: put a plastic wrap on the bowl and put in the fridge for 10-16 hours
4: Cut the above vegetables in desired size
5: Put a tiny bit of the coke from the bowl with ribs inside the DO (about 100ml)
6: Prepare around 12 coals for the top and 9 for underneath
8:: put the vegetables in the DO
9: Rub the spare ribs with your seasoning and lay them on top of the vegetables
10: pour a whole bottle of bbq sauce on top of the ribs
11: Cook for 1.5 hours then turn them and cook it another 1.5 to 2.5 hours
12: Put your topping on and enjoy!
