A Clone or Not A Clone? THAT is the question.
Published: 8 years ago
This video is about our opinion of the products companies like Ganzo, Sanrenmu, Enlan, etc produce. It is our contention that they do not produce clones. Here is our reasoning behind that conclusion:
1. They obey the laws that apply to them in the countries where they are located.
2. They do their own Research and Development. They do not merely take a knife and reproduce it identically (Like the Brother 1601 is a rip-off of the Spyderco Manix2 XL, where Brother did no R&D, they just re-labeled the knife.
3. All of the knives produced by such companies have several unique aspects that are different than the knife you are reminded of, and may initially think is a clone of, when you see their knife.
4. What is a clone? In our point of reference: A clone is a knife that is identical to the original in EVERY way, including having the label of the original. A clone is an attempt to convince the buyer that they are buying the original brand knife.
5. The companies whose knives we review do not make clones according to the definition of what a clone is.
6. Canadian Cutting Edge abhors clones and the individuals or companies that make them. We will in no way promote or review knives that are known to us to be clones (according to the definition as stated in ) If a video we have done proves to have been a clone we will remove and delete said video.
The goal and vision of Canadian Cutting Edge is to produce good quality, entertaining reviews of high value knives that cost very little money. We are promoting knife collecting as a hobby that even those with a very low income can participate in and find much enjoyment in doing so.
