Today I'm reviewing the Ozark Trail Nimbus - another knife from our good friend John Emerson's box of goodies. Everyone remembers that orange D2 steel knife Ozark Trail released last year. Some folks reported incredible edge retention, though my version didn't quite live up to the hype in testing.

Now Walmart has come out with this classier version of that same knife while somehow keeping the price at just $9.97. They trimmed half an inch off the total length and about a quarter inch off the blade, but made it noticeably thicker for harder use tasks. The blue aluminum scales are a big upgrade over the plastic originals and give this budget blade a much more refined look. So let's dive in and compare why you might want to pick up this new upscale version instead of the original plastic-scaled model. Special thanks again to John for sending this one to the channel!
